Reading: My Rotten, Red-Headed Older Brother-focus book. This book is realistic fiction (it sounds real but has characters, a setting, a problem/solution and a theme. You can watch the book here! https://youtu.be/ogoEpqfdVaw

(3.1; 3.6A-C; 3.7C; 3.10A,B; 3.3D; 3.8C; 3.8B; 3.8A).  This week, we are reviewing skills learned since the beginning of 3rd grade. We are also focusing on character traits (internal and external), as well as changes and relationships between characters. We will also work with synonyms and antonyms.

babushka :an old woman or grandmother
challenge: Something difficult to accomplish
sneered: smile or look with teasing
inspired: outstanding or brilliant
rhubarb: long pinkish sour leafstalks usually eaten cooked and sweetened
relish: to enjoy
wedge: a tool used to split something into pieces or the shape of anything that has two edges: that meet at a point.
custom: a tradition; a way of doing something that many people follow

HFW: several, however, stuff, of, own, possible, slowly, cleans, they’re, thought

Spelling/Language Arts:

beginning sounds: all used to date.

Ending sounds: _sh, _st, _ck, _nk

Vowels: short

Suffix: -ed and -ing

**Focus on doubling the final consonant when necessary before adding -ed and -ing

Social Studies: Finishing explorers projects. The students will be posting all of these projects/presentations on their Blogs very soon.

Important Reminder: Don’t forget about the FUNDRAISER and the STORYBOOK CHARACTER PARADE (note come home last week).

We are trying to get our classroom project funded on DonorsChoose. If you happen to go to Sonic, please ask for a Limeades for Learning Sticker. Each sticker is worth 2 votes. Our project will be ready in a few days and you will be able to vote once it’s complete. We are trying to get more flexible seating for our classroom.
